The next Municipal Election will take place in October 2026. Municipal Elections are conducted following the requirements of the Municipal Elections Act.
Pursuant to Subsection 88.23(4) of the Municipal Elections Act, 1996 (the Act), the Clerk is mandated to make public a report identifying all candidates and indicating whether they complied with the filing requirements for their financial statements, Section 88.25 of the Act, attached hereto as Schedule A – 2022 Municipal Elections Financial Statements Compliance. About the Election |
In 2022, voters in the Township of South Stormont cast their vote in the Municipal Election from the comfort of their own home or from anywhere they could access internet, from October 19th at 9:00am, until October 24th at 8:00pm.
In addition to internet voting, the Township offered in-person voting with paper ballots at the Municipal Office from 9:00am to 4:00pm from October 19th to the 21st, and from 10:00am to 3:00pm on October 22nd and 23rd, as well as on Election Day, at 3 additional polling stations, from 10:00am to 8:00pm. The official list of candidates has been certified by the Clerk per the Municipal Elections Act. |
