In 2023, the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario had downloaded the responsibility of approvals for temporary patio extensions for licensed establishments to local municipalities. 

The Township developed a Temporary Patio Extension Policy to establish an approval process for applicants wishing to add a temporary licensed outdoor patio for their establishment.
