Office Closure
Due to Canada Day falling on a Saturday, the Township Office will be closed on Monday, July 3rd, 2023.
There will be NO CHANGES to garbage and recycling collection due to the holiday.
The Trillium Road Landfill will be closed on Saturday, July 1st.
Celebrations
Two celebrations are scheduled for Canada Day in South Stormont to celebrate.
Lost Villages Museum
The Lost Villages Museum will host a Canada Day Celebration on-site from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. that includes:
- Live music
- Local Vendors
- BBQ Lunch
- Children's Activities
- Quilt Show
- Celebration Cakes
- Silent Auction
- Strawberry Shortcake
Arnold Bethune Park
The Ingleside Long Sault Lost Villages Lions Club are preparing a second annual Olde Fashioned Carnival at Arnold Bethune Park in Long Sault from 1:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Events and activities include:
- Carnival games such as ring toss, basketball toss, balloon pop, etc.
- Local vendors
- Live music from the Tri-County Music Association, Bryan McGillis and more
- Carnival food like popcorn, burgers, hot dogs, freezies, etc.
- Variety of races like 3-legged race, sack race, egg, tug of war, etc.
- Balloon Artist from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m.
- Magician Kevin Smith from 6:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Fireworks
As always, the South Stormont Fire and Rescue team will be setting off a mesmerizing fireworks display at dusk at the Long Sault Waterfront!
