ODHS/R-O Reunion Committee Make Donation to Ingleside Park
Published on 21 February 2019
At the February 20, 2019 Council Meeting, the Osnabruck District High School/Rothwell-Osnabruck School Reunion Committee presented a generous donation of $12,000 to the Township of South Stormont to be used toward improvements at the Ingleside Park, including the construction of a basketball court.
Jennifer MacIsaac, former Co-Chair of the Committee, and current Councilor for the Township of South Stormont explains that "These funds were raised in 2008 when Rothwell-Osnabruck School, formerly Osnabruck District High School, held their 50th reunion. Over the course of the past decade, the Committee tried to work with the Upper Canada District School Board to fund a project that met the mandate of the Committee which was for it to be something that promoted athletics and would benefit a large number of youth. With the closure of R-O Secondary, we are pleased to make the Municipality the new benefactor of these funds which will go toward the construction of a basketball court and possible outdoor rink at the new community park in Ingleside on Farran Drive."
The Township would like to extend a sincere thank you to the ODHS/R-O Reunion Committee for their generousity and committment to the betterment of our community.
