South Stormont, ON – The Corporation of the Township of South Stormont is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Deborah LucasSwitzer as the new Chief Administrative Officer (CAO). The current Chief Administrative Officer, Mrs. Betty de Haan, is retiring in the new year following more than 36 years of dedicated service to this community.
Ms. LucasSwitzer has over 20 years of senior municipal leadership experience. Deborah’s roles serving in rural and urban municipalities in both Ontario and Alberta includes General Manager of Recreation and Culture, Community Services Department for the City of Lethbridge, Alberta and Director of Strategic Planning, Community Services Department for the City of Waterloo. Along with the completion of several municipal government courses and certifications, Ms. LucasSwitzer has a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Waterloo and a Public Administration Diploma from the University of Western Ontario, London.

The selection of Ms. LucasSwitzer comes through a recruitment process supported by N.G. Bellchamber & Associates Ltd.
The appointment of Ms. LucasSwitzer to the position of Chief Administrative Officer will become effective Wednesday, January 3, 2018.
