Township Launches Three Student Scholarship Programs

At the Regular Council Meeting of August 10, 2022, Council for the Township of South Stormont approved the creation of the Township of South Stormont Student Bursary Program.

The annual bursary program will see three deserving young people from South Stormont receive $1000 bursaries to be used toward their planned post-secondary education.

French Avenue Road Closure - August 3, 2022

Please be advised that French Avenue in Long Sault will be closed from Cherry Ave. – Mille Roches Rd. for a water line repair on Wednesday, August 3rd, 2022 from 8:00am until 5:00pm. Local traffic only will be permitted.

Lakeview Park Closed for Swimming

Please note that testing of the water at Lakeview Park has indicated higher levels of bacteria and the water is unsafe for swimming. Additional testing by the Eastern Ontario Health Unit will take place and we will advise when the water is once again safe to enter. Township Receives 2021 Audit of Financial Statements

At the Wednesday, July 13th Regular Council Meeting, Council received and the audit results and DRAFT 2021 Township Financial Statements from auditors MNP LLP. 

Auditors presented their audit findings including improved financial processes, addition of new financial administration policies, and a financial surplus of $1.8M in operating and capital expenditures. Upcoming Bridge Closure: Lefebvre Road Bridge

Please be advised that Lefebvre Road Bridge in St. Andrews West will be completely closed from July 18, 2022 - October 15, 2022 to facilitate bridge repairs. Due to the depth and nature of the bridge repairs, vehicular and pedestrian traffic will NOT be permitted during this time.
