$20,000 Towards the Ingleside Splash Pad Projects
Published on 5 July 2018
The Parks and Recreation Department is excited to announce the donation of $5,000.00 from four great community partners, for a total of $20,000, for the creation of the Ingleside Splash Pad. The Township of South Stormont would like to thank the Ingleside and Long Sault Lost Villages Lions Club, M&L Supply, Kraft-Heinz Canada, and the Ingleside Splash Pad Fundraising Committee for their generous contributions. These donations will go directly to the construction and landscaping cost of the Ingleside Splash Pad, scheduled to be built in August of this year.
The splash pad will offer a 15-feature water facility, a self-contained control vault, and meets accessibility requirements for all visitors. The addition of the splash pad in South Stormont is highlighted in the Township Recreation Master Plan and provides direct recreational benefit to approximately 2,500 youth as well as thousands of annual tourists in the area. The splash pad will provide an aquatic feature in this rural area that is accessible to all individuals, including those with disabilities.
The Ingleside Splash Pad is part of the Phase I Development Plan for this community park. This Plan also includes the previously constructed fully accessible washroom, baseball diamond, play structure, and multi-sport court. The creation of the Ingleside Splash Pad will help to elevate the community as a premier regional destination for local families and tourists alike, while also promoting a healthy, safe, and active lifestyle for people of all ages.
