Roads and Highways
South Stormont is made up of a network of municipal, county, and provincial roads. Smaller municipal roads run through residential areas, keeping them quiet and safe for pedestrians, while easily accessible county roads and highways allow for quick travel from place to place.
South Stormont also offers international access to the United States. There are two easily accessible border crossing stations nearby: one in Cornwall, 15 minutes east of the Township, and one in Johnstown, 30 minutes west. Both of these access points are placed only a few hours' drive from American urban centers like Syracuse, Buffalo, Boston, and New York.
The Canadian National Railway line runs through South Stormont, east to west, right through Ingleside and Long Sault. There may be opportunity to utilize the railway to transport goods.
The Ottawa International Airport and Montreal’s Pierre Elliot Trudeau International Airport are both within an hour’s drive of South Stormont, and the Ogdensburg International Airport in New York is only 45 minutes away.
As well, there are smaller airports in Morrisburg and Cornwall, suitable for recreational pilots. A flight training school is operated out of the Cornwall Regional Airport.
